E Co. is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Recruiter to join our team. This role plays a fundamental part in building and nurturing our network of global top talent.

We have achieved a 99% success rate in unlocking climate finance which has led to the successful mobilisation of over USD 7 billion of climate finance from global climate funds, including the GCF, GEF and Adaptation Fund.
E Co. is seeking a highly motivated Recruiter to join our team. This critical role plays a fundamental part in building and nurturing our staff and wider consulting network to fuel our consulting success. Driven by E Co's mission and culture, you will be responsible for the full recruitment lifecycle and cultivating long-term relationships with talented consultants across the globe.
Duties
As a Recruiter, you will join E Co. at a time of significant growth. Your role will be pivotal in helping us achieve that growth. You will be the first point of contact for many of our candidates and responsible for the full recruitment cycle, from identifying the recruitment needs and onboarding new hires to nurturing collaboration with potential new hires, and the established and growing global network of consultants.
Your duties will include:
Sourcing
- Understand and uphold the employer brand
- In line with the company and bid strategy, define the job requirements and responsibilities (writing a job description) for staff opportunities and freelance / assignment opportunities respectively
- Determine the skills, experience, and qualifications needed for the role
- Plan a budget and resources for the recruitment process
- Build relationships with potential candidates through networking and employer branding initiatives
- Identify and select the appropriate recruitment channels (referrals, job boards, social media, etc.)
- Actively search for qualified candidates through chosen channels and build a talent pool, maintaining employee and associate profiles in line with the agreed expertise taxonomy
- Communicate the E Co. Value Proposition to candidates through all available channels
Screening and Selection
- Review resumes and applications to shortlist qualified individuals
- Conduct initial screening interviews (online) to assess basic qualifications, alignment with our core values, and general fit
- Narrow down the candidate pool to a select few for further evaluation
- Compile and develop material for candidate assessment or tests (if applicable) to evaluate skills and knowledge
- Coordinate or carry out in-depth interviews with shortlisted candidates, focusing on specific skills and experience and guide others to do the same
- Arrange for reference checks and background screening (as applicable)
- Evaluate interview results and candidate performance to identify the most suitable candidate
- Keep the hiring database up to date and coordinate the steps in the process
- Support candidates in the tailoring of their CVs for upcoming bids as necessary
Hiring and Onboarding
- Take part/ build a formal job offer to the chosen candidate, outlining the salary, benefits, and starting date
- Take part in negotiating the terms of employment and finalize the contract details
- Support assignment managers in defining terms of reference for external associates, contributing to clarity of expectations and performance management
- Complete new hire paperwork and all necessary onboarding preparations and own the processes related to the contracting of external experts
- Welcome new employees and introduce them to the company culture and team
- Support each new employee as they integrate into their new position and facilitate their initial launch into the role
- Support freelance consultants through the onboarding process at the beginning of our collaboration and then again through the off-boarding process at the end of each assignment. Aim to nurture a longer term relationship to ensure our Associates feel valued and part of the wider E Co. family.
- Collate feedback on the performance of each freelance consultant upon completion of each assignment
Wider HR strategy
- Take part in mapping and developing HR processes and tools, aligned with business strategy as it relates to all hiring activities
- Support wider HR initiatives and search for excellence, optimization, and innovation in managing the employee and associate lifecycle
- Take part in general HR and company strategy, presenting work activities, discussing ideas, and plans in presentations and reports as appropriate
- Keep abreast and utilize your understanding of our place in the market and prepare recommendations for continued updates of our employee value proposition
- Follow the progress of new hires through the employee life cycle (e.g. performance success factors) and use insights for continued improvements
- Assist in the management of talent and succession planning
Essential requirements
- Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field, preferred
- Minimum 5 years of general experience in an HR or similar role and 2 years in recruitment
- Understanding of the consultancy industry, sustainability, climate finance and international development sector
- Positive and professional demeanour with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of relevant HR policies, procedures, and regulations
- Excellent networking and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in HR software and data analysis tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, able to keep accurate records of work progress
Highly desirable
- Exposure to and a global recruitment track record; contacts in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and/or Asia-Pacific
- Fluency in another language (including French, Russian, Arabic, Turkish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Spanish)
- A wide network of contacts in the sustainability, climate finance and international development sector
